The planet Korda 6, in the Korda system of the Anthos sector, is a hostile convergence of fire and ice; glacial ice flows and large volcanic fields cover the planet's surface. Only solitary prospectors, researchers, and the occasional fugitive needing a quiet hideaway populate this barren, lifeless planet.

Mining is one of the few profitable activities on Korda 6. It has even been reported that jewels and rare metals, ripe for the plucking, are pushed from the planet's metamorphic bowels by volcanic activity; if one can get to them before they are buried by the ice or churned back into the lava. Mining near the lava fields is especially dangerous because seismic activity often tumbles chunks of ice into the superheated terrain causing enormous steam explosions, some powerful enough to blow plumes of debris into the uppermost edges of the atmosphere. This produces what appears to be a nearly continuous meteor shower as the bits of rock and metal falling back to the planet's surface burn up and explode. One benefit of this violent display is the sudden steam explosions in the hot crevices liberate oxygen, making this hostile planet's atmosphere breathable for most species.

The planet has little significant history; it has been exploited by the miners and used to stage attacks on other planets in long-forgotten battles for territory in the Anthos Sector.
