Last Updated: Year 16 Day 364
Planet: Endor
Table of Contents [hide]

Endor is not exceptionally large for a gas giant, but this swirling hydrogen globe is the largest planet orbiting the star Ibleam and has frequently been the subject of some confusion. Early pioneers exploring the Moddell Sector witnessed the sunlight reflecting from Endor and mistook the eponymous system for binary. More recently, a hoax circulated on the HoloNet claiming that Endor had been destroyed and that its nine moons continued to orbit the sun on their own. Even today, if you mention Endor in a cantina, most people will assume that you are referring to the forested Sanctuary Moon, whose residents call this blue gas giant "Tana."

Endor orbits closest to Ibleam, with 30-hour days and a 402-day year. While some gas giants are known to have tolerable upper atmospheres, Endor's composition is entirely inhospitable and is subject to frequent chemical and magnetic storms. The cloud cities that cover the thermosphere today must be completely pressurised, and the lifestyles here are intramural. Far below the methane clouds that give Endor its azure hue, the intense pressure compresses hydrogen and helium into a vast liquid ocean. It's entirely possible that ice may also exist, although the pressure at the centre of gas giants is measured in kilotonnes and modern technology is far from being able to withstand such an environment to investigate.
