The Outer Rim planet of Seswenna I - or more commonly referred to as Seswenna Proper or simply Seswenna - is a cosmopolitan world and vibrant ecumenopolis along the Hydian Way. Historically, it was the capital of the sector that shares its name, before the nearby planet of Eriadu became the new economic and administrative centre of this interstellar region over the course of the last century. Despite this, Seswenna remains an important and wealthy trade world that has managed to hold on to its position as the cultural heart of its sector through its various art programs, carefully orchestrated propaganda, and thriving holo-vid industry.

Seswenna was integrated into the Galactic Republic roughly four millennia ago, during a grand project to expand the existing hyperspace routes in the region, which eventually resulted in the formation of the Hydian Way. Mineral-rich Seswenna was just one of the worlds that profited from this expansion. Its newfound prominence and its location far from the core, however, also made Seswenna a target. The world's history is marked by invasions and occupations by Madalorian Neo-Crusaders, the ancient Sith Empire, and other enemies of the Republic of old. Nonetheless, Seswenna always returned to the Republic’s fold and remained loyal to the Senate in the centuries and millennia that followed. Yet, after the rise of the Galactic Empire and during the early years of its reign, the inhabitants of the planet started to harbour rebellious sentiments. Thus, when the Imperial regime's grip on the Outer Rim weakened under the rule of Emperor Vodo Bonias, the people of Seswenna broke free and pledged their world to interstellar governments that arose in the local interstellar neighbourhood, such as Rogue Squadron, the Eriadu Authority, and most recently Total Outer Rim.

While Humans are the demographic majority on Seswenna I, the planet boasts a diverse population of sentients from across the galaxy, ranging from the Gran and Sluissi, to more uncommon sights such as Shistavanens and Parwans.The world is governed as an aristocratic republic, and its society has an entrenched nobility of mercantile houses, a majority of whom can trace their bloodlines back to the original settlers of the planet from four millennia ago. These families are often perceived as the driving force behind Seswenna’s economic success and cultural projection across its namesake sector. After all, many of the intergalactically praised Seswennan holo-vid companies behind cinematic masterpieces such as the popular crime film “The Hutt Father” or the adaptation of the historic starship catastrophe “Gigantic” are owned or invested in by the planet’s noble families. Similarly, many members of the Seswennan nobility act as interstellar socialites who actively spread cultural trends from their homeworld to neighbouring systems and sectors, often at the behest of their planet’s government.
