Planet: Rori
Table of Contents [hide]

Rori is the second largest lunar companion of the planet Naboo. Its surface is made up of overgrown plains of wild, tall grasses and misty swamplands, in which the roots and trees are even more gnarled and knotted than the natural vegetation of Naboo. The moon's southern hemisphere is home to a mountainous region that harbours many immense caverns and caves along its impressive highlands and is the preferred location of the local nobility to spend their holidays. The question of who had colonised Rori first had always been fiercely contested by both the system's Human inhabitants and the native Gungans. Some historians claim it was the former who had established their settlements on the moon before Naboo's indigenes, while the Gungans claim that their bubbled cities were there before the Human colonies had been established on its lunar surface. Yet both parties agree that Rori was settled by the mysterious Elders eons before the arrival of the colonists from Grizmallt, with the many ruins they left behind being a testament to their presence on Naboo's lunar companion.

The various lifeforms endemic to Naboo also appear on its moon Rori. The Nuna roam the marshy Asworal Everglades, the misty Mudflats, or the expansive Narmle Swamp in search of small insects like the bark mites and other critters, while falumpasets and fambaas graze under an often grey and cloud-covered sky on the Madyn Plains or by the edge of the Vaydean Marsh. Yet Rori is also home to a number of endemic lifeforms, such as the nocturnal borgle bats that inhabit the many dark caves of the mountain ranges in the southern hemisphere or the colossal tortons that migrate between the beautiful grasslands of the Narlis Fens and the wetlands surrounding Lake Octir.

Over the centuries, Rori became something of a gateway to its parent planet Naboo, as species from across the galaxy immigrated to its lunar companion. Communities of Twi'leks and Zabraks have arisen on its surface, and they are often found in the employ of wealthy nobles and individuals, or working the mines in the moon's rugged mountain range. In recent times, the moon experienced an influx of immigrants as a result of the Trade Federation's presence in the Naboo system, as the families of its employees settled within the quiet towns and villages of its native citizenry.
