Planet: Ingo V
Table of Contents [hide]

Ingo V is a gas giant in the Ingo system of the Bortele Cluster. It is a rather large planet and is located very close to planet Ingo itself. On some nights, the light reflected from this planet’s atmosphere is so intense that foreigners on Ingo have mistaken it for a sun. Indeed, the inhabitants of Ingo have had to grow accustomed to the five-day periods of light that occur once every three and a quarter years.

Ingo V’s atmosphere is typical for a gas giant and is made up of methane, oxygen, and nitrogen. One feature of this planet that is not typical, though, is its surface. Gas giants are not generally known to have surfaces, and those that do are not like that of Ingo V. Ingo V’s surface consists of a layer of molten rock located near the planet’s center that forms a sort of free-flowing mantle. This mantle has intrigued physicists, geologists, and astronomers for decades, and it seems plausible that a joint effort may soon be made to study this strange structure.

There is no life on Ingo V, and few mining expeditions have been attempted on it. There are no major settlements, and it doesn’t look like there ever will be. Even the governing Tresario Star Kingdon has all but left it alone. Though large and unique, it seems that Ingo V will forever be deemed an underachiever among gas giants.
