Chakrams are large metal discs with sharp edges. Used initially by Dressellian commandos, these silent weapons are usually wielded in one hand to awe-inspiring effect. The outer radial edge is so sharp that limbs struck by this weapon could be cleanly severed by a powerful throw. In the hands of a skilled martial artist, the weapon can be spun in one hand while the other wards off melee attacks. The chakram can then be used to capitalize on an opening, or thrown to target more distant opponents. It is ideally used against soft targets that are not protected by heavy armour.

The finest chakrams have a layered construction composed of a durasteel outer ring bonded to a central discus of lommite. The two halves are press-forged to bond them together in a thin saucer. The result is a circular weapon that is both light and aerodynamic. The edges are then finely honed to create a razor-sharp blade. Some examples are elaborately etched with lasers to create intricate designs and patterns, making each weapon into a distinctive work of art as unique as its owner.
