Telltrig-7 (Projectile)
Table of Contents [hide]

The Telltrig-7 was conceived several years before the First Galactic Civil War as the seventh iteration of the Telltrig franchise of self-defense weaponry. This model would prove to be the final and most popular version. With most of their previous larger blasters given neutral to negative reviews, they decided to take advantage of the galactic unrest by producing an inexpensive hold-out blaster. Given a lower price point, they did not expect much for the first few months until a Senator was caught in an assassination attempt and only was saved using a concealed Telltrig-7 blaster pistol. After the same Senator gave a glowing review in an interview soon afterwards, the Telltrig company was overrun with production orders from everyone from small home owners to entire government agencies wishing to use this same product.

The Telltrig-7 was a very simple design for its time, using a very simple blaster grip with an integrated trigger located on the top portion of the grip. The barrels design was rather unique however, able to be taken off to make the hold-out blaster more concealable, at the cost of accuracy and potential damage to the blaster. This was due to the barrel's special series of heat vents, allowing the weapon to avoid overheating the weapon when firing in quick succession. One of the strangest features however was the recharging portion of the Telltrig-7, having to be connected just above the top of the barrel with a special connector, recharging the hold-out blaster to full capacity in just a few minutes.

While the Telltrig Corporation made a fortune during its early production runs, the First Galactic Civil War saw orders all but dry up. While the Telltrig-7 was a good hold-out blaster, it was made for personal home defense and not the battlefield. As such, it was left behind when newer blasters were created during the course of the conflict. Deserted by their clients, the Telltrig Corporation was forced to sell their designs and patents before eventually going bankrupt. Within possibly five years, one of the most respected brands of hold-out blasters in the galaxy and been reduced to a footnote in history leading up to the First Galactic Civil War.

The Tellrig-7 rose to relative prominence several years after the First Galactic Civil War with the rise of resistance fighters against the Galactic Empire. Rebel cells were often underequipped and were forced to use whatever was at hand at the start of the Second Galactic Civil War. The Tellrig-7 was easy to use, maintain, and conceal for those wishing to maintain a low profile. They were common in small shops and black markets, and soon manufacturers sympathetic to the Rebel Alliance had secured the plans and machinery to produce them. Thus, the Tellrig-7 found new life as the most common side arm of the rebel armed forces.
