New Leadership Looks to Move CorEx Forward
Posted by: Mikel von Bianchi, CorEx
Date: Year 18 Day 71 Onboard the Ardent-class Fast Frigate Sunset Lance in system n/a (289, 333).

WYNTH -- As former CEO Geoff Jackson remains in a coma, the Honnete Mercantiles Capital Group (HMCG) has appointed Mikel von Bianchi as the new head of CorEx. Although Jackson's medical issues forced HMCG - majority shareholders in CorEx following a purchase by the group, which counts noted galactic businessman Togan Jano among its board members - to move forward more quickly with its plans, sources have told us that Jackson and HMCG had agreed to part ways several weeks ago, which was to be effective at the end of his current contract term. Unverified reports indicate that HMCG was unhappy with Jackson's running of the bank, though they stress that CorEx remains in good position to regain its previous luster under more focused leadership.

Incoming CEO Mikel von Bianchi was introduced at a meeting of top CorEx shareholders today at CorEx's headquarters on Wynth. Although some sentients appeared holographically from around the galaxy, many others decided to appear in person at the event, as interest is high following news of Lord Bianchi's appointment as chief executive of the galaxy's flagship financial institution.

Lord Bianchi's remarks to the shareholders focused mainly on his ideas for new CorEx products and services that look to revitalize the finance industry. "CorEx will renew its claim on the title of the galaxy's most client-friendly bank," Lord Bianchi was quoted as saying. "With new products and services focused on the security and privacy of your transactions, consumer confidence in CorEx's offerings will reach an all-time high."

A source who was in attendance at the meeting provided readouts of the business plans given to shareholders that outlined Lord Bianchi's proposals. The incoming CEO stressed accountability as one of the main tenets of his plan.

"Several new CorEx features will ensure peace of mind and anonymity in banking transactions. Anonymous accounts will allow investors to transfer funds without records of those transactions being subject to examination by CorEx staff or unsavory outside groups. Importantly, CorEx accounts will not be visible to banking staff except in cases of emergency, when an account representative will have to request your permission to view your information in our advanced holonet system.

"Additionally, the introduction of CorEx's new SAFETrade® system will provide escrow payment services for all types of galactic financial transactions. CorEx branches and banking displays in markets galaxy-wide are being updated to include this technology which will roll out shortly for a nominal fee, or complimentary for our highest balance transaction accounts."

It's said that Lord Bianchi also addressed concerns regarding his former connections to the Galactic Empire, stressing his desire to maintain the bank as a neutral party. "I have with a heavy heart resigned all positions within the Empire," the CEO stated, "and look to improve relations with those groups that may have felt slighted by CorEx in the past.

"I realize that I have some work to do to deserve your trust, and I will be striving to build the market's confidence in my neutrality, and hope to promote that confidence by introducing these and more security features into the CorEx banking system."

Markets have already risen on the news of Lord Bianchi's appointment, with analysts at the Outer Rim Consortium of Economists as well as the Kuat Society of Finance praising the selection of the billionaire businessman, politician, and philanthropist. "Lord Bianchi most recently oversaw a revitalization of the Imperial Corporate sector, completing significant milestones in the development of trade and commerce in the Outer Rim. He also brings direct experience in banking, having led the famed Universal Network Bank for some time."
