Into the Abyss...
Posted by: Grizzik Lo-Lo, Sanctuary Prime
Date: Year 21 Day 142 Onboard the MC-80b Star Cruiser [SAN] The Vengeful Spirit in system Coruscant (-15, 88).

The nightly Galactic News runs its course, the anchor comes to the next story of the night and an image flashes across the screen.

“Well it appears, as Imperial forces are spread thin, many groups are taking advantage of the opportunity. One such group? Sanctuary Prime. We go live to Coruscant, where vandalism can be seen from the Starport to the Imperial Palace!”

A man stands in front of A building on the Imperial Capital world. Posters cover the walls as well of various buildings. Imperial officers and ordinary citizens are inspecting the unauthorized ‘art’ plastered across the Imperial capital

“With the upheaval in galactic politics over these last few months, it appears Sanctuary Prime has been busy. Sometime during the past week, a group of sentients disguised in Imperial uniforms were transported planet side and started a run of vandalism that you see before us.  This was no ordinary hooliganism, but a well-coordinated release of posters and leaflets urging the people of Coruscant to overthrow their ‘False’ Emperor. When we reached out to Sanctuary Prime for comment one of their commanders, a General Esu Kyouto, sent in a recorded response.”

As the anchor in the field nods to the camera, the feed plays the recording. A tall and bulky Gamorrean appears on screen, wearing strange looking clothing. He grunts a few times and starts to speak, a protocol droid off screen translates.

“A small strike team consisting of me and another Reclaimer landed planetside early last week. We then split up in an attempt to cover as much ground as possible, blanketing several cities in posters and leaflets. We found little resistance in the local populace or even the Imperial troops. Most seemed over worked or disinterested in the day-to-day grind on the Imperial Capital. Although an overall success, we concluded our Operation fairly early as word of our subterfuge reached others on the planet. We await the day when the False Emperor recognizes Reclaimers everywhere while casting aside hatred in the name of peace and prosperity.”

The feed switches back to the anchor in the field.

"Very interesting response. We have also received reports that the Emperor himself was observed cleaning up some of these posters, although unconfirmed. An unnamed source tells Galactic News he was furious when the leaflets were discovered, ejecting many from the Imperial Palace in a fit of rage. Calling his command staff ‘incompetent thirteen year olds’ for allowing this to happen. This so-called Operation Reclamation appears to be a new direction of opposition by Sanctuary Prime shifting more towards an anti-imperial stand."

"It appears that as the Emperor attempts to reel in newly-dominated lands once peacefully governed by the Republic, those efforts have left the defenses of Coruscant, the center of Imperial government, so weak that off-worlders can share their message of hope and resistance with the very citizens themselves. And rather than stealing ships and facilities, as the Emperor has done, their efforts seem to be focused on winning over the hearts and minds of the populace. We can only wonder what the future holds for any group brave enough to walk the streets of Coruscant in broad daylight,  and daring enough to be protected not by Star Destroyers and armies of stormtroopers, but only by handfuls of posters urging the people to rise up against their Imperial overlords."

“In case any of our viewers were wondering, there were no reports of anyone being injured in the distribution of these pamphlets, although there are unconfirmed reports of explosives being planted within numerous military targets throughout Coruscant. We've probably not heard the last of Sanctuary Prime’s efforts to bring a measure of truth to the people of Coruscant, and to the galaxy as a whole."

The other reporter turns and looks to the next camera.

In other news, the so called ‘Wookiee Work Release Terrorist’, Ben Yaz, was found drunk in a local pub yesterday. This is just another of the recent troubles for the man once nominated for the award for 'Upstanding Citizen of the Year, Outer Rim Sector, Year 17.' Yaz's fall from grace has now seen him lose much of his credibility, and has reportedly also witnessed a public bounty placed on his capture, dead or alive. We'll have more on this story coming up next.”

The Galactic News continues...
