In a surprising move today, the Hapan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Rebel Alliance Diplomacy Corps, announced the signing of a mutual non-aggression pact between the two powers. The Supreme Commander of the Rebel Alliance, Master Avatar Voidrunner, was reported to have spent a great deal of time in quiet talks with the Hapan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lord Andrew Starfyre.

The affair recalls the past signing of a non-aggression agreement between the Hapes Consortium and the Galactic Empire, and popular opinion holds that these new developments indicate a clear stance of neutrality for the Hapes Consortium. As for the Rebel Alliance, analysts deduce that the treaty is a boon for the Alliance, ensuring that Hapan forces are not drawn into the war against them.

Lord Andrew Starfyre also made a point in thanking fellow Hapan Lord Vang Tyrridon with his assistance in the negotiations. Here are his words:

"Lord Tyrridon's help in maintaining communications between our diplomats and the Alliance's diplomacy corps was vital. I wish to express my thanks, and give credit where it is due. Many people have labored to ensure that peace is established between the Consortium and Alliance."

These images were broadcast by Rebel and Hapan news sources:

An image of Lord Andrew Starfyre and Supreme Commander Avatar Voidrunner is shown. Surrounded by reporters and officials in a meeting at a neutral site, they each sign their names at the bottom of the treaty, stand, and shake hands, smiling.

And now we bring in our political analyst to discuss this treaty's effect on the state of galactic politics...
