(MNB) Nimban, Hutt Space - The Swap Meet's hunting event on Nimban recently concluded as the competition's closing ceremony saw an end to both the Mandalorian-hosted Swap Hunt and marking the close of the Tenth Uli-ah Gafsa Memorial Swap Meet.
The Swap Meet itself was a much more subdued event, likely a result of patrons suffering from event fatigue caused by new and alternative galactic events held this year. Despite this, however, the Mando'ade hunting event still drew a large crowd of both hunters and fans, old and new alike.
The competition saw seventeen contestants, all from numerous and varied backgrounds use cunning, strategy, and patience to not only find their targets but stick with them throughout their encounters - hopeful of gaining the maximum awarded points during their six-hour round. As reports of the hunters' engagements reached the audiences, the excitement and hype grew with each update that the presenters shared of the many thrilling moments of battle between score-obsessed hunters and their prey.
Over the course of seven days, hunters from all walks of life participated in what was an adrenaline-driven chase to either capture or defeat their prey, whether they were droids or creatures. While the competitors tested themselves in the wilds of Nimban, many found that these confrontations and the bonuses gained from melee clashes led to incredibly difficult and highly dangerous exchanges between hunter and prey - often resulting in painful results for both parties.
After scores had been tallied and evidence checked in triplicate by the organisers, a closing ceremony was held a few days later on board the Valor-class Crusier, Te Beskar Marev, which had been chosen as the designated headquarters for the event. Within the specially designed areas for the Swap Hunt festivities; spectators, sponsors, hunters, and patrons from elsewhere at the Swap Meet all assembled, eager to find out who would be the hunter that would walk away with the title of Champion and the accompanying Swap Hunt trophy, which had been crafted by the Naur'alor, Jevon Lambright.
Out of the seventeen hunters that participated in the event, it was Carl Warrington who had scored the most points - winning the event and becoming the latest Champion of the Swap Hunt. Having missed out on finishing in one of the top three spots by only one point in the previously held Droid Hunt on Champala, Warrington was believed to have been more determined and motivated to do well during this event. As noted by Rehd Duurgo, the results spoke for themselves.
"He was like a man possessed! I could not help but be enthralled by the hunter's rounds, watching as he duelled with the Draigons he fought throughout the week. It was almost as if he was dancing with them, matching the thrusts and slashes from their claws with his own - using the swords he had won during previous Mando'ade hunting events to boot! It was a marvel to see and a moment that will likely go down in the event's history."
The Swap Hunt winner was followed by both Selene Kahn and Felix Hawx, taking the spots for Second and Third place respectively - earning both an honourable mention as well as a share of some of the generously donated prizes that were supplied by the sponsors of the event.
Once the closing ceremony itself came to its end, Huntmaster Kara Vhekade announced that the next of Mando'ade's Swap Meet hunting events would take place on the planet of Yelsain to coincide with the following Swap Meet, as revealed by its organisers days previously.
The Huntmaster went on to express her hope to see even more competitors participate in the next hunt and indicated that there were additional plans in motion for more competitions and the continued development of the Mando'ade-hosted hunting events for all of their fans to look forward to in the coming months.
