Creature Cloning is the act of processing two creatures of the same type to create a new creature, with the aid of a specialist cloner.
Kaminoan Cloners can be unlocked in any research station that is set to open-to-all, or research centres that are powered and open-to-all.
Taal So who can be found in these places will give the player the quest Verdant Horizons. Completing the quest Verdant Horizons unlocks the Kaminoan Cloner allowing players to interact with Nota So.
Once unlocked the Kaminoan Cloner can be accessed in any research station or centre that fulfills the requirements.
Before you can begin cloning a creature you must attempt to synthesize a viable genetic clone.
To begin synthesis, talk to the Kaminoan Cloner with two creatures of the same type in your party, for example two Loth-cats. Creatures being used for synthesis or cloning cannot be utilised until the process completes.
Synthesizing bigger creature sizes requires you to increase your Research Level by Synthesizing and Cloning creatures.
Synthesis takes 5 days regardless of Research Level and has a chance to fail.
| Research Level | Failure Chance |
|---|---|
| 6 | 5% |
| 5 | 10% |
| 4 | 15% |
| 3 | 20% |
| 2 | 25% |
| 1 | 30% |
The Kaminoan Cloner can begin cloning a creature by speaking to Nota So again after synthesis is successful.
Cloning will begin in the selected slot once the player pays the cost to the Kaminoan Cloner.
Cloning Slots are shared between Synthesis and Cloning, players have access to 1 + Medical Treatment number of slots.
The current progress of Cloning Slots can be checked by interacting with Nota So, or from a datapad.
Synthesis does not require any payment to be made.
Cloning requires the player to pay a cost based upon the size of the creature they are attempting to clone, this cost can be reduced by reaching higher Research Levels.
Synthesis takes 5 days and is unaffected by the player's Research Level.
Cloning time is tied to the size of the creature and the player’s Research Level with higher levels lowering the overall time.
In order to clone larger creature sizes the Kaminoan Cloner and the Player must have gained enough experience.
Experience is gained by:
The XP gained is a flat rate that scales based on creature size. Failing synthesis can give a random modifier to XP equal to between half and double the normal amount. Cloning a creature gives a much larger amount of XP than synthesis.
| Research Level | Max Creature Size |
|---|---|
| 6 | Colossal |
| 5 | Huge |
| 4 | Large |
| 3 | Medium |
| 2 | Small |
| 1 | Tiny |
When the timer elapses on a Cloning Slot the creature is ready for collection. You may interact with Nota So to check the results.
This will spawn a brand new level 1 creature in the same room as the Kaminoan Cloner owned by the player.
