Once a backwater on the edge of the galaxy that few paid heed to, Sernpidal has grown into a heavily urbanised and industrialised planet, despite the hot climate caused by the world's high volcanic activity. Julevia's rocky satellite is home to a sentient species of pale-skinned, red-eyed humanoids who call themselves the Sernpidalians. While many other species have settled on the planet and made it their home over recent decades, its enigmatic natives continue to stand out from any crowd, as their traditional white and red-striped clothes never fail to catch the eye.

Roughly four thousand years ago, Sernpidal had been the site of a major battle that had heralded the Sith Empire's return from their millennium-long exile in the aftermath of the Great Hyperspace War. The Sith had managed to subvert the planet's government in secret, along with the rulers of Belkadan and Ruuria. As a result, when their armadas emerged from the unknown reaches of space, the Sith had pinned down the Republic and Jedi fleets within enemy territory and crushed them in a humiliating defeat that announced the start of the Great Galactic War. In the decades that followed, a cabal of ambitious Sith turned Sernpidal into a valuable resource for their empire's war effort. Yet, after the red-skinned warriors of old had vanished into the dark annals of history and their empire fell once more, the arid homeworld of the Sernpidalians reverted to being a forgotten rock on the distant edge of the galaxy.

As Sernpidal orbits its primary relatively closely, it creates a hot world of dusty plains that support agri-farms beneath its surface, watered by subterranean aquifers. Vast, damp ravines spread across the more humid parts of the planet, where tough tentacular creatures move ponderously across the surface in search of sustenance and shelter. Wide stretches of volcanic terrain spew black clouds of ash into the sky, while molten rock from the planet's core bubbles up to the world's surface, giving up its valuable mineral and ore wealth.

In recent decades, the galaxy has settled its gaze on Sernpidal once again, and the planet has flourished as a result. The plains of tall prairie grass and the wide stretches of hot desert have been covered by ever-growing urbanscapes and industrial production centers. Vast mining operations extract valuable metals from the volcanic zones of the planet, which fuel the local industry and economy. As a result, the eerie-looking natives of Sernpidal no longer see their world shrouded in forgetfulness, and instead have witnessed the galaxy coming to their doorstep, to bring their world into the galactic community and its turbulent affairs.
