Although a few mining colonies have been established on the surface of this planet, there is little other settlement there these days. This was not always the case. Necr`ygor IV used to have a much warmer climate and an indigenous population, who were primitive but great builders and artisans. Their traces are everywhere on the planetary surface, rising out of the ice sheets that now cover them. Ruined temples and other structures attract archeologists and sightseers alike, for they are beautiful in their design. None of these native people now remain since the planet shifted into an orbit that gradually cooled the climate, leading to longer and longer winters and finally a perpetual ice age.
