Planet: Lolnar
Table of Contents [hide]

The planet of Lolnar is one of the two gas giants in the Lolnar system, and is the smaller of the two. When the miners settled in the Recopi system over 500 years ago, there were vast wars over land and mines. Eventually, it was decided upon to give control of separate portions of land to the two most present species at the time, Humans and Hutts. The Hutts gained the planet of Lolnar in the contract, and all mines within it, making them the wealthier of the two species.

Although the Hutts no longer live here their presence is still felt. Since they left, several cities have been formed, and many mines sprung up around the planet’s huge surface. The capital city of Lolnar is also the largest city on the planet and dominates the landscape around it with huge towers rising out of the center and compass points of the city. Although we have no idea what these towers do or are, an ancient inscription can be found at the bottom of each, probably carved by the slaves the Hutts had working on their construction.

The average temperature of the planet can vary from -17 degrees in the height of the Lolnar winter, whilst the temperature can reach the staggering heights of +35 degrees in the summer. The local wildlife has adapted to these extreme conditions, by developing very insulating coats, allowing the heat to stay in during the winter months, but for it to stay out during the summer heat. Being naturally airborne from birth, the indigenous species of the planet have developed vicious habits, such as cannibalism, to help them survive. But, believe it or not, these flying creatures, known as Limorots, are not the only species on the planet. Below a height of 2,000m from the core of the planet are small clumps of vegetation that are perpetually hung in the air. Small mites thrive on the clumps of moss and weeds, and so are given the nickname ‘Mossbugs’.

Being naturally rich in resources, this planet has a long and fascinating history, filled with violence and deceit. But the Hutts are currently appealing for this savage ancestry to be erased, and for the Hutt race to have its name cleared. In fact, people often speculate whether this planet gave birth to the line of Hutt crime lords we know of today.
