Ord Ibanna V is a barren, rocky world covered in craters, ice, and volcanoes. Because it is not habitable by most species, the planet was untouched for many millennia. The rocky surface is devoid of all life, and the small amount of water is trapped in the small ice caps found at the poles of the planet. Volcanoes spew forth once or twice a year, but the planet's cold temperatures cause the lava to harden quickly and simply form more rock.

Ord Ibanna V is believed to have once had an orbit similar to that of the nearby planet of Ord Ibanna IV. Separated by only a few thousand kilometers at certain points in their orbits, it is believed that some mysterious force was able to cause Ord Ibanna V to reverse its direction one day. The basis for such rumors is that some of the Dark Jedi from the system of Bpfasshi did it in an attempt to confuse their Jedi pursuers by changing the available hyperspace lanes. Ord Ibanna V is currently being studied in the hope of somehow relating it and Ord Ibanna IV together.

There are a few notable regions of interest on the planet. Two of the craters are believed to be the result of crashed ships, and the site of such wrecks promises to hold some mineral value for any company willing to spend the time to gather the resources hidden there. Next, the ice caps of the planet not only hold a large source of water but a few valuable minerals as well. Finally, the volcanic lava guarantees that newly formed rock will provide new minerals yearly.
