As a Teaching holocron, it preserves sacred knowledge Jedi techniques, Sith philosophy, or forgotten powers ready to be passed down to worthy students.
As an Information Storage holocron, it can house vast stores of wisdom and training sessions, allowing users to access hidden knowledge and elevate their abilities.As a Force Battery holocron, it becomes a conduit for raw Force energy, replenishing a user's strength when tapped into.
Each holocron is bound to its role, and once its purpose is fulfilled, it fades into dormancy. The Force within is fleeting, and once drained, it cannot be recharged, leaving behind only the memory of its power until the next creation.
Before a Force master can utilize any of the roles of a holocron, they must first bond with it. This bonding process is done by interacting directly with the holocron, requiring the master to spend 1000 Force points and 2 hours in focused meditation to establish a connection. Once bonded, the holocron becomes attuned to the master, allowing them to use one of its roles. Once a role for a holocron has been selected it can not be changed. If a master creates a holocron, it will automatically bond with them at the time of creation, bypassing the need for a separate bonding process.
Crafting a holocron is a complex process that requires a Grand Master Force user to channel their energy into a carefully assembled set of components that are listed below. The Force user must shape and bind these materials together using the Force with a Crafting Kit. The Crafting Kit must be equipped to facilitate the process.
Once initiated, the Force user expends 4000 Force Points to begin the delicate act of creation. This requires uninterrupted concentration and any attack, offensive action, or manual interruption will cause the attempt to fail, and the Force Points will be lost.
If successful, the holocron is permanently bonded to its creator. It remains inert until one of three roles is assigned: Teaching, Information Storage, or Force Battery. Assigning a role is final and renders the item ready for use.
The Teaching Holocron is a rare artifact containing long-lost powers, hidden away for centuries. Only through dangerous quests or special Admin events can one hope to find it. Once discovered, it reveals forgotten Force abilities to those who prove worthy, unlocking new powers previously thought lost to time. After imparting its knowledge, the holocron fades into dormancy, its secrets spent until the next journey brings a new seeker.
The Information Storage Holocron is a valuable tool for preserving and passing down knowledge. It allows a Force master to store training sessions, capturing their teachings and wisdom for future generations. When a Master meditates on the holocron, it stores the essence of their training, which can later be accessed by younger Jedi to learn and grow. The Master can store a limited amount of sessions until the holocron is activated, but once the holocron is activated, no more training sessions can be stored. Once all the sessions have been used, the holocron fades into dormancy.
The Force Battery Holocron is a powerful tool designed to store raw Force energy. Unlike the Information Storage Holocron, it does not capture training sessions but instead holds Force points. The holocron's creator must meditate and transfer their own Force points into it before it can be used. Once activated, no additional Force points can be stored. Each meditation will transfer 200 force points per medtiation attempt.
When a Force user meditates on the holocron, they tap into its stored energy to accelerate their Force regeneration, allowing them to recover Force points more quickly. The holocron can store up to 4,000 Force points, and once all its energy is depleted, it enters a dormant state, unable to store or release any more Force points.
Any Force user can activate the holocron. Once activated, it functions as a Force battery. By meditating on the holocron, the user can draw upon its stored energy to regain Force points. The rate of recovery is calculated using the following equation:
