The HB-5 Assault Rifle is the standard-issue blaster rifle for the Hapan royal infantry and security forces, replacing the older and much heavier RAGC-A45. Introduced by Endara Arms in Year 2 CGT and produced on Charubah, the HB-5 was designed alongside the HB-1 and shares many components with its sister sidearm. This kept production prices to a minimum and makes battlefield repair much easier for troops in the field. The universal Heter valve and XCiter permit rapid firing, but the actuating module had to be limited to prevent gun deterioration. Like the rest of the Hapan Blaster series, the HB-5 is finished with a light grey coating and has ventilation holes down the length of the barrel to aid in cooling. A telescoping shoulder stock allows the blaster to be adjusted to fit its user precisely, improving accuracy in distant encounters but doing little to enhance close-quarters performance. The standard model also comes equipped with a folding bipod for stability, though these are sometimes removed to aid mobility in combat. Ambidextrous controls and selective firing modes add to the HB-5's versatility, placing it among the most balanced and reliable weapons in the galaxy.
