Formally known as the 785MK Firepuncher-X sniper rifle, the weapon is capable of delivering exceptionally powerful and accurate fire at extended ranges. Rumoured to be able to make light of even the heaviest personal armour, including even the famed Mandalorian beskar steel plate, blaster bolts fired by the MK sniper rifle possess tremendous energy and can transfer massive amounts of heat and kinetic energy to the target. Originally manufactured in small quantities by Merr-Sonn Munitions to appeal to military and law enforcement agencies that lacked access to Imperial or Rebel Alliance sniper rifle technology, this precision weapon is more customisable than either military’s main sniper weapon, able to accept a variety of accessories without jeopardising its accuracy.

While the weapon is somewhat bulky, this does not hurt it in its primary role. More seriously for the MK, while it has a number of advantages over contemporary sniper rifles, the small batches produced mean that the unit cost of these rifles was prohibitively high, making their availability strictly limited. The weapon can be seen from time to time in the hands of bounty hunters and gun fighters, but it will likely never be as common a sight as other sniper rifles. The small numbers in the hands of these civilians mostly come from illicit weapons trade or outright theft from military or police.
