A claw from the forelimb of one of these huge, predatory insectoid creatures, this trophy is a one point five metre long arthropod-like claw with a relatively small, but powerful pincer. Normally coloured in various shades of greens, the outer shell of the claw is rough, ribbed and covered in small thorns. A freshly harvested claw will weigh in the region of sixty kilogrammes, half of which is a surprisingly tasty, white, filamentous meat. On planets where these creatures are common, acklay claws are a delicacy, although harvesting them is perilous in the extreme, given the belligerent nature of the bearer.

One common method of cooking acklay claws involves cutting holes in the two centimetre thick exoskeleton and stuffing the inside with Anzati snot garlic, salt, pepper, Naboo lemons and Kuati limes, then wrapping the while in foil, followed by a layer of clay, then by baking the whole in an underground oven for several hours. A popular appetizer is lightly broiled claw meat served over a bed of shredded leafy greens with a lemon-balsamic reduction. Once the meat is extracted the empty exoskeleton can be used in a variety of ways, from being mounted on a wall as a memento of a successful hunt for a fearsome beast, cut and made into a light, tough armour or ground up to make fertiliser.
