The Beskar Spear is a polearm developed by the Taung in the distant past as a weapon to counter the threat of Force-using opponents. Essentially a rod consisting of a durasteel core encased in a thick jacket of rare Beskar alloy, the spear enables the wielder to block lightsaber attacks and keep the Force-user at a distance with its superior reach. Most spears are anywhere from one to two meters in length, depending upon the race and fighting style of the user, and while they are commonly round, some rods have also been known to have oval or octagonal construction.

The art of the spear can essentially be distilled into swinging strikes, although thrusts with the tip are also practiced, as well as various forms of leverage to control or throw an opponent. The stick-fighting arts were long practiced by the Taung, as it enabled them to apply the principles of the art to any number of similarly shaped objects that could be found and pressed into service nearly anywhere.
