I didn't realize I had to wait for a passowrd to be emailed to me so I ended up signing up for an account twice. The one email message I did recieve said something like; "Hey your not allowed to have multiple accounts."
So now what do I do?
I haven't received any other emails since.

The only account that matches that e-mail address as well as your IP address is currently pending, so you will need to wait for it to be approved. Since you registered two accounts in rapid succession, most likely both were declined automatically since we cannot know which of the two is the correct one.
All join requests were taken care of this morning. The wait is currently unavoidable; of the three individuals who regularly handle join requests, one is on leave due to a funeral, and one is busy with final exams and term projects.
