According to the current Recycling rules, the amount of Raw Materials we can extract when recycling a facility depends on the facility's condition. We can start to recycle a facility only after it is converted to wreck, so that condition is usually about 10%.
On the other hand, the rules state that the cost of recycling is equal to the construction cost for that facility.
As a result we get only a small amount of RMs at a very high price.
Example: We tried to recycle a Tavern and we got 5 units of Meleenium and 4 units of Duracrete and we paid about 54000 credits for the process.
Now as far as I could understand, in the future we'll be able to move facility wrecks to another location. This means that it will be much more effective to create a scrap yard on some planet and stockpile all the wrecks there. And no-one will bother to recycle the wrecks because of the cost.
I know that the whole recycling process is still developing, but I'll be glad if someone could explain the whole situation to me.
