I thought the admins were investigating the Thyferra situation and were going to release a report on it. Is this still the case, as it has been 3-4 months now. Not trying to start a flame thread, but I just want to know if I should still be expecting to hear the results of the discussion or not. If so, any idea when?
I think he's referring more to the twin bugs of arresting people not pausing construction, and arrested workers being able to be used to start new construction projects (or used to resume construction).
Both bugs have now been fixed, but if control of Thyferra was taken due to them...
I echo Xavze that I'm damn glad I'm not the one supposed to be figuring it out.

*raises weary hand* This was the poor bugger that somehow ended up handling it. It took up something on the order of 40 hours. *shakes fist*
I did a report covering the two issues and then a further analysis later covering the two planets that were still in doubt (Tatooine & Thyferra).
The first report found that the bug allowing arrested workers to be used to start/resume construction didn't appear to have any significant affect because the number of facilities affected were small and my fixer script did so for some shortly after they were started/resumed. On construction not pausing when all NPCs were arrested it found no bug and that the likely cause for it to appear was the use of stealthy and decoy NPCs by the NR and her allies.
About a month after that I did the analysis of Tatooine & Thyferra. Tatooine was simple since the NR and Friends built many times more than NIO and there was hardly any building in response. Thyferra required more work. My script found six facilities affected by the bug, of which only one had all the NPCs arrested and three which didn't have that data available. The detection and fixing of those affected by the bug occurred either just before or around the time of the NR and Friends taking control. Since almost all of their facilities started within the same 24 period we could construe that the script would have been checking most of them. Considering that it was possible that it didn't it was found that the NR and Friends needed aprox. 66% of their facilities to be delayed for several days for them to not take control when they did.
If someone higher up gives the ok 'll dig around and find the full reports.
Not to rain on your parade, Khan....the NIO reported the first instances of the build bug on Tatooine weeks before the Admins even bothered to respond. Which was a nice response of "Oh, I passed it to Khan." and when you were questioned, you said you knew nothing of it, and were too busy so passing it onto Kyle. I spoke to Kyle about a week after that and he didn't know anything about it either until I approached him, and he then confirmed a number of buildings that had completed on Tatooine with no NPC builders present.
The delaying of 66% of their facilities for several days is actually not much of an issue when you have 30 odd players crawling across the surface of a single planet, where about only five cities were being built in.
The Admins did not act for over a month after we initially reported the issue, and it was only after constant check-ups from me that anything was done about it at all. I even had confirmation from the Falleen Federation they were aware of some of their buildings completing without NPCs (only after I confronted them about it though). I'm sure SSC, which kept some very hawklike eyes on Tatooine were aware of some of their facilities completing as well, despite their assurances contrary. Heck, all the NIO needed was for 200 flats to be delayed 2 days and we would've retained control of Tatooine.
I wouldn't have minded if we lost Tatooine without any bug being involved. Would've shrugged my shoulders and carried on with my work, I don't win them all. However when we lost it due to a bug confirmed to be present by an Admin, when it was completely avoidable, when we reported the issue over a month before it became a serious problem; that pisses me off. I don't expect the Admins to reverse what happened, too late for that now. I don't expect for them to reimburse the NIO the 25 Mil we spent on Tatooine. I just want to say "I'm angry" and leave it at that.

hmm. Did you guys control any other cities on Tatooine aside from those five I found and confirmed? Those five plus the facilities you had in NPC and private cities were nowhere near the build the NR and Friends was doing.
Morvo was on my detection/fixer script when I was looking at the other planets but I didn't do anything further on it when I went on to look at Tat, Thyf, etc, so I can't really speak to it.
From an OOC point of view, Morv. may very well have been a victory due to the bug, but it may very well have not have been. It was a tight race, and we were using clawdites. I know some of the facilities at Skor II finished not because of a bug, but because you didn't see our NPC with stealth of 3 there, as 9/10 of the npcs were arrested. I do know there was a bug @ morvogodine as I believe a screenshot was taken, however I'm not entirely sure the exact details of how much was left on the building, whether or not it was corrected and halted etc, and whether or not it happened on more than just the one building. It could have been either way, and I don't think I can say with confidence how it would have ended without the bug. It could have gone to the NR, it could have stayed imperial
However, on the other hand, we're also kindof stuck in that this was 3-4 months ago, and lots of time, resources and money have been invested to secure the planet since then. Even if it is found that the bug resulted in victory, how can it be worked out in a way that does not screw either side? Perhaps some sort of compromise can be worked out between the two parties that is good for both, rather than having a ruling that will screw one or the other side.

There were several NPCs on Morvgodine rounded up and reused by RA officers after the buildings were finished and control was taken, not possible if they had finished due to the under arrest bug. The GE simply never arrested them. From what I can remember on Morvogodine the number of NPCs we reused did match the (very small) number working on the planet when control was taken, although I couldn't swear to it.
On Skor II, there was at least one Tusken Raiden NPC the GE tried to arrest seemingly every day for a week or more as it slowly finished as skyscraper, on its own, once again not possible if this bug was in effect.
It's impossible to say if the bug had any effect on either planet as we simply weren't aware of it then, so it was impossible to take the steps we did later to try and prevent it happening (unassigning NPCs as they were arrested). What is certain on the other hand is that there *were* facilities that finished legitimately on both of these planets.
