I saw that on the Sim News. What exactly does it mean? Is this only when they are in your party and you walk around in a city? Does it mean exp when a builder finishes and walks on his own to the 0,0? Does it mean exp when an NPC is travelling with me in a ship or only when they are piloting an NPC controlled ship that is slaved to your own?
They receive XP for traveling with you in your party, and for traveling to (0, 0). They do not receive XP for traveling in a ship with you, however, because they are merely a passenger on board the ship, and passengers do not receive XP. They also do not receive XP for NPC piloting ships because actual NPCs are not used to NPC control ships.
I hope it's not a problem that I invaded this thread, but since we are already on the theme of NPCs and XP...
“XP is now awarded to NPCs after they Brawl or Heal.”
Under what condition do brawlers get XP? When they fight or when they win a fight? Because if they only get XP if they win a fight, then that would mean that the PC doesn't get XP because he/she lost. And if they get XP even if they lose a fight, then shouldn't PCs get the same treatment? (Currently PCs do not get XP if they lose a fight. Correct me if I am wrong though, it's been over half a year since I last lost a fight.[/showoff] )

Doesn't matter if you win or lose, you get 1 xp (for putting your HP at risk and for learning something from the fight). You get more XP if you win, and the NPC can get as much as a player if the NPC wins.
