Jenca Ketur	I've been assigned by my faction to construct my first city and it's not going very well. I keep getting error messages that there's a road where I want to build, or that a road is part of the border. Here's the situation: [5,7 = road] [6,7 = blank] [7,7 = road] [[5,8 = fountain] [6,8 = blank] [7,8 = fountain] I'm standing at 6,7 with a builder NPC. I want to build a fountain at 6,8. No one is standing where I want to build. Roads run down the 4 column and 8 column. [6,7] is the position where I'm getting that error message (though not the only position). Ka`rla Leakey	I had a problem similar before. Just as a trial rotate the facility by 90 degrees and you may be in luck. Silly I know but it worked for me.

Evan Bluvius	What is located at (6, 9)? If there are any facilities there, then you will not be able to build your fountain at (6,8) because the fountain will not have roads on two sides.

Jenca Ketur	I tried rotating the fountain: no dice. (5,9) and (6,9) are both roads. (7,9) is blank right now but will be a fountain eventually. ____________ Honor is your shadow.

Jenca Ketur	Ok, not surprisingly, the problem was with me. I didn't realize that on the second construction screen, you have to select where you want the roads to go (N/S/E/W). I thought you had to build or destroy the roads manually, under "Roads" and not "Construction." I think I'm ok now. Thanks for the help! ____________ Honor is your shadow.

Evan Bluvius	Just to check the little things... When you go to build the fountain, after you select the position, you are given four checkboxes to place roads. You are unchecking the boxes next to "east" and "west," correct? If that doesn't solve the problem, could you provide a screenshot of the build screen?

Evan Bluvius	hehe, don't worry, there are a lot of subtleties in the construction interface. I'm just glad that you got it to work. :)

Khan	Hah. "subtleties" I like that :) It's a crappy, ancient interface that grew far far beyond what it started as that really needs a redesign. ____________ Kids these days!
