Most of the Combine images are saved in GIF (such as facilities and planets), you cannot view any of those in FireFox? That's odd. If it's only certain images then the image link might be broken.
Mike: Most of the images in SWC are GIF. Look at the top bar with the SimNews and the symbols in the right-hand inventory menu. You'd know if they were broken.
Orion: None of the GIF images are working. All of them display a broken link symbol.
Togan: I have FF set to clear my private data every time I get off. I tried the forced refresh, but it didn't have any effect. All of the GIFs are broken. The right-hand inventory, un-read forum message lights, top row of buttons with the inventory events, the "Post New Topic" button, most of the images in the city designer, just to name a few. I'm pretty sure it's just the GIF, since the JPEGs are showing up perfectly.
Xim, It seems something has happened for you, because I am having no problems at all. All GIFs are displaying properly for me.
Try as Togan said clearing your cache and any temporary file locations. One other thing I would do is double check any security settings, was something changed or updated recently? Maybe it's preventing displaying graphics files either to increase internet access or to boost security.
____________
Warning this is strictly Orions McPhees Opinion, it may or may not have any bearing on events true or imagined
I've cleared my cache and tried the forced refresh, but neither of them have any effect.
And I think it's not just the GIF images. All of the images hosted on the Combine aren't working, not just the gif. The race page, which uses JPEGs for the pictures, displays the broken link images too.
I don't think I've changed any security settings recently that would cause something like this to happen, and besides, only Combine-hosted images aren't displaying properly. All images not on the combine are working, however.
Edit: Tried it on another computer and it worked. I just can't figure out why it's only SWC on my computer that the images won't display for.
Do you have some kind of ad-blocker that's blocking images from SWC? Perhaps you mistakenly added the combine to an image block list without realizing it.
I just tested it using firefox's image blocker. I right clicked on a combine image, set it to block images from the combine site and pretty much got the effect of what your describing.
If there's a check mark next to that when you right click on a combine image then uncheck it and you should be all set.
