I have been trying to get off my spawn planet. When I get into a ship a piolt droid is there. I hail the droid and tell it to take me to rodia but nothing happens. How do I take off.

If you hired an NPC transport, then the ship should already be on its way to your destination. The room description in one of the rooms should give you the ETA.
