well it depends on your internet speed and th type of computer you have. I dont thinka ny change in codeing is gonna fix that. A lot of people are on this website at once, and remember all characters are always on the server so that adds to lag i bet.

Not if any other website loads without any probs.
The Combine is the only website doing this, i have no probs whatsoever on any other websites, inluding movies, games whatever.

Yeah, everything else works just fine and its just the Combine website, all of its pages, that are taking 20-40some seconds to load and I have high speed internet.
Right now there's 78 users online and i am having no problems, had the same thing yesterday, looks to me like problems start when the numbers get close to 180.
Of course may be a coincidence, but was just something i noticed.
