Does the combine store when an entity was created and would it be possible at all to display this information as part of the ship status?
It seems pretty pointless now but it would potentially bring age of ships into the mix of ships. Eventually it could have some oother use eventually but it would be nice to know hoe old your ship is, especially as the combine begins to age, it would be great to have for example one of the first ever made ships etc.
I was going to suggest this but I don't know if it's possible so that is the only real question for now?
Thanks

Only way for now is ship ID#'s. The lower the number the older it is. But that is different for each ship. I have a YVV-666 in the low 400's. But that would seem like an OOC concern.
Ship age would have an impact on flight performance, reliability, and combat.
- Wrong! ”
Seriously, stop posting utter nonsense. Not only is it completely wrong, but completely irrelevant to the original question.
Chris, if you go into your inventory, you will be able to see the #ID numbers above the small image of the entity present -- that displays the 'age' of the entity in question.
Why you put [OOC] tags around a question in an OOC question forum is beyond me, but 'ftfy' means "fixed that for you". Learn how to google things!

Kai next time I'll google things, thank you so much for kindly pointing out that internet feature to me. Forgive my newbness.
When I posted about ship age affecting the performance of the ship I should have stated that I was offering a suggestion to use the ship age statistic for. My apologies for not being clear in the first place. Please reply with any further questions or comments.

Personally I wanted to know if it was possible for coders to implement this?
The reason was not for 'maintenance' or 'degredation over time' that would come later when the combine can implement it when it would not overload the server,
I only ask because I think it would be interesting to have a..
'Constructed on: Day 110 Year 8'
or
'This ship is: 3 Years 112 days old'
as a part of the stats.
This would possibly change the way the ship looks to buyers/sellers and could eventually would also bring something strictly RP into the game, as phrases such as 'the brand new Cruiser' or 'this old piece of junk' can then be applied to the ship with a factual background, it will also become more apparent in the coming years when the Combine is saturated with ships which at the moment are all brand new.
Though unless suggested against I will create a new thread in the 'Suggestions' area since I think it has already developed past my original question.
