hey there, I just started production of a y-wing squad ( 12 y-wings ) in my shipyard 1 using 15 workers. but, it just seems impossible, the ETA is 3Y 196D 7H... 3 ******* years !!! how can it be possible just to build a squad of y-wing...
is it possible thats it a bug or a issue in the calculation ?
I've just aborted the production and now I think it's showing the right ETA... problem is that I can't restart production.
humm... any tip what can i do now ? I misleadingly abort the production 'cause the ETA was wrong and then I wanna restart the production but I can't - I need to abort first but if I abort I,ll lose some mats.... what a shame.. :(
The ETA is more than likely right, the problem is the number of npcs you used. Ask around and find people who are experienced with production if they'll clue you in on the correct amount. I had a number I always used but it's been about 2 years since I was a producer so not sure if things have changed.
Also, I don't think there is anything you can do about the abort, pretty sure you can't cancel it. You'll just have to take the hit in RMs and time and try again.
As Meph said, your number of NPCs is way off, which gives the huge construction time. As for aborting, nothing you can do about it, you'll just have to wait, get the extra mats for those that are missing, and restart with the correct number of NPCs.
There is an optimum number of workers. Having less or more than that will increase the time needed. EIther there aren't enough people to do the work, or they are all getting in each others ways.

(length of ship in meters/5 = number of workers) is the formula I was given by a very longtime ship producer and it has worked well so far.”
And that formula works great for big ships that you build in a shipyard. Fighters and small freighters that can be built in a factory are a different story.

Whether you build one or 20 at a time, the optimum number is based on the length of one of those ships. Once you get down to fighters though, its roughly ends up as 5 or 6 workers.
I tested it over on Dev. While I didn't pause and fire, I only arrested [which caused to pause] the all over 6. Then started. I got the same result as I would with 6.
Not sure how legal it is with the features as they are. I think worker manipulation should be allowed thou...
