so i registered about a year ago, was an active member of a faction and given the pilot position of a ship. now i've come back and i think my faction disbanded. i'm still stuck on the ship i used to pilot, but unable to take control of it. looks like they abandoned it since i was in space for so long. any way to take over it? i would think a ship without an owner would be taken by whoever sits at the controls first?

i'm stuck in space in the meantime

No, you cannot take it over, as I mentioned on IRC. Seizing abandoned ships will not be an option for some time. However, an ASim may be able to look up your location and either give you the contact information of the ship's current owner (if one exists) or move you to the nearest planet.
