Archives » Formula for PC/NPC volume capacity?
The rules are pretty clear on the formula for weight capacity based on the strength skill. But what I cannot find is the formula that determines a character's volume capacity. Does anybody have it?

I've searched the rules and the forums to no avail. All I found was an old (inaccurate) formula from year 8. I've also noticed that NPCs who have the same strength skill and race multiplier as me have different volume capacities from me, despite having the same weight capacity.

Thanks,
Phillip.

I am not sure if its on the rules but it is:

Characters:
weightCap = (30 + ($strength * 20)) / 1000;
volCap = (6 + ($hpMult * $strength * 0.5))

NPCs:
weightCap = (30 + ($strength * 20)) / 1000;
volCap = (5 + ($hpMult * $strength * 0.5));

I am not sure why NPC volcap is different, that may be a typo or a bug.

Please suggest which page to put it on the rules and I can update it.

Well, the simplified version of the weight capacity based on strength is here:

I never found the actual formula anywhere in the rules.

I found it on this page:

I think the NPC volcap being -1 is a bug.

I guess the search function on this site isn't very thorough.

I submitted the bug report here:
