I'm about to start building in a city, and I was wondering what faclities would be good in a new city? Besides the power generator, obviously. But what else, goes in a normal city? suggestions? Comments?

well my suggestiong would be to read the rules a bit more... they have some suggestions in there...
My tips would be... make sure you have more jobs then you have flats, not a lot, just like 15% more... build some hotels, taverns, offices, garages, a workers compound, landing pad, hanger... stuff like that... Also to keep crime low you'll want to build a bunch of fountains (unless you have the datacards for crew quaters or a barracks)..
Make sure you design you city in the city designer first... it is found in the rules under cities...
From what I've seen, taverns, offices, and hotels have the best cost-to-income ratio. There are many facilities that will make more, but they also have greater costs.

Apparently not any more. If you go to the XXX miners website, though, they still have the original city designer program available for public use. Perhaps this had something to do with XXX miners recently being fined 1,000,000 credits?

hmmm I never knew that, where does it say that, because I searched with no results, and how many fountains are good enough?
those poor criminals, and their hatred towards fountains...
Well, see, people throw loose change into fountains, so there's less money around for people to steal. Also, people tend to sit around fountains to eat their lunch, if there's a nice fountain available. A few carefully placed trash receptacles, and there's less littering going on, further reducing crime!

Also, when criminals in the city will look at a calming, beautifully sculpted, fountain, they no longer feel the need to be so violent. Instead, they go to a therapist and complain about the lack of attention their mother gave them as a child.
