Miz`ri Frost Year 23 Day 266 15:47 | Thanks Teroch Qir-zan! That makes sense based on where the fob was while I was tracking the bounty down. I didn't think about that but I accidentally left the fob on my ship while I was moving in my vehicle to engage the bounty. Thank you! |
Teroch Qir-zan Year 23 Day 266 15:35 | Also, if the puck was 2 or more items deep on your person it would trigger a flee. For example: Puck in Utility Slot: No Flee Puck in Tracking Fob in Utility Slot: No Flee (Below here everything is 2 or more items deep) Puck in Tracking Fob in Toolkit in Utility Slot: Flee Puck in Tracking Fob in Toolkit in Toolbelt in Belt Slot: Flee Puck in Tracking Fob in Toolkit in Toolbelt in Backpack in Back Slot: Flee Puck in Tracking Fob in Toolkit in Toolbelt in Backpack in Grav Sled in Primary Slot: Flee |
Leland Thakkun Year 23 Day 266 12:33 | What is the composition of your hunting party? If you have a creature as part of your party larger than large (meaning of the huge category), then they will be scared off by it and flee your approach. Otherwise you should look at what you health is at when you approach them as well. If you are currently at less that 40% of your max health .. they will run before combat begins. |
Miz`ri Frost Year 23 Day 266 11:21 | I did read the rules. Did you read my post?? Here are the questions I asked - If I have claimed the puck, why did they flee? If I cannot complete the bounty, do I lose reputation for the failure of the contract? I didn't lose health and I didn't land in my ship while approaching the bounty. That basics of hunting that are clearly stated in what you posted. I've been bounty hunting long enough to understand the rules and how to approach a bounty. What I don't see is if I claim a bounty puck and then attack said bounty, why did he/she flee? Hence the reason I posted the questions to begin with. If you see anything in the rules that helps with my question, by all means you can call me out for not reading the rules. |
Blot Hlidskjalf Year 23 Day 266 10:29 | how about reading the rules? from the rules: 7.3/ Target Escape Bounty targets are fighting for their lives, and will look for any opportunity to escape. They may also flee from certain triggering conditions. If the hunter falls below 40% of their maximum health during combat, the target will disengage and retreat after combat. Entering combat with a Huge or Colossal creature supporting the hunter is too intimidating for the target, and they will flee. In either case, the target will need to be located again using the Tracking Fob and re-engaged. Landing in the same surface grid as the target using a ship provides enough warning for some targets to escape to a different part of the planet. Approaching in a vehicle or cross-terrain via foot is low-profile enough to enter the same surface grid and hunt for the target without spooking them. Targets are more likely to flee from hunters with an established reputation in the bounty hunting business. |
Miz`ri Frost Year 23 Day 266 5:49 | Hello, I found a bounty fob with a puck for a bounty inside. I tracked down the bounty, claimed the puck for myself and attacked the party. It's a kill contract but when I attacked, the party fled from me. Message was that the party was wanted by bounty hunters and has fled (or something to that effect). If I have claimed the puck, why did they flee? If I cannot complete the bounty, do I lose reputation for the failure of the contract? Please let me know how to proceed. The contract is due on D275 so I'm hoping to complete it and get the rep and creds for completing. Thanks in advance! Frost |
