Ok, let me make sure I get this,
you don't need a keycard to use a door.
you can put doors on stairways
it takes 4*level of door hours to install or upgrade a lock
Only the owner of the ship can change a lock code without knowing the code

Is there anything else about locks you think we should know Sin?

Not really. Just play around with it and have fun.

A friend of mine wants me to ask if the owner of a ship can change the lock code from remote.

AKA, you let your boyfriend put locks on all your ships, when he's done you want to change them without boarding all of them. Is that possible?

Question of my own: Can you pilot a ship/vehicle while constructing a lock on one of the doors next to the cockpit? (assuming you are in the cockpit)
If so, can you enter hyperspace while constructing a lock?

Thank you!

I looked but could not find it--sorry in advance if you said it already.

How long does it take to craft a key? Same as it does to install a lock? What are the chances to successfully make a keycard?

Great feature in the works. Nice job.

We need an abort option and a time reference for the key card creation process. No?

Okay, I just ran into an issue:

I worked on breaking a lock, and, first it gave me an ETA. After that ETA was up though, the ETA reset itself again to a different ETA (a shorter one, but still one nonetheless).
Now, after that second ETA was up, it did not have no ETA at all, but nothing happened. I was unable to move, and all it said was "Breaking Lock, ETA: "
I waited a few minutes, and after still saying "ETA:" and nothing afterwards, I aborted. So I got no success/fail message at the end, no ETA when it was over, and an ETA that reset itself in the process.

Needless to say, I had a ELB in my hand, so a possible lack thereof cannot be the explantion. But apparently I got something wrong somewhere, so can someone tell me what I did wrong? (I don't have the time to find out myself right now, I have OOC business to attend to now.)

What you did wrong appears to be to post an obvious bug in a General Questions forum rather than in the Bug base/adding it to an existing bug base post if there is one.

I didn't see it as a bug earlier. Or maybe I was just too busy getting out of the house to notice that it was one.

But thanks for the heads up on that.

To clarify for future reference, are codes for locks strictly numerical or can an alpha-numeric code be used?

You can use both letters and numbers for sure, not tested for extra characters.

ok question, can you remove a password from a keycard. Say for example you have 20 passwords on it and it is full. Can you remove one to make room for a new one?
Example. Say I have a company keycard and it has 20 passwords on it that the company uses. I quit the company and they change the codes but offer to sell me the keycard. Can I remove all passwords and use it as my own once it is made over to me or is it useless because it has 20 passcodes in it's memory that are now useless?
