Year 7 Day 2 23:17
There's one in space skills and one in ground skills. Both have the exact same description so I assume they have the same function. I think one needs to be take away and stat points given to those who had stats invested in whichever is taken away.

Year 7 Day 3 1:59
One is for vehicles that have repulsorlifts. The other is for ships that can fly in the atmosphere.

I suppose it could be considered a double skill, but are you going to say the same about targetting?

In my opinion air command would be the same regardless of what you are piloting, the different commands represent the ability to strategize in air setting, not the ability to pilot in it.

So, with the same amount of skill you would most likely do the same manuever and thus your team recieve same bonus. It might be too late to change the way it works, but that is what it is supposed to represent.

I'd suggest that tactics for using ships and vehicles will be different, actually. The moves that ships make will be different from the moves that vehicles can pull off, and being familiar with the capabilities of everything at your disposal determines your tactics.

Starships in atmoshphere use repulsorlifts, so do airspeeders. There is no real difference, really.

You need to know maniuvers in this case. The kenobi offensive for example, will always be performed in the same way regardless of what you are piloting. The difference would be the end result, which would be slightly different depending on your piloting skills. Thus the same manuever would be used equaly if performed in the same conditions.

As i said before, i think it is too late to make any changes to this...

Year 7 Day 3 23:03
Skills have been changed recently, to fill holes. But it would be better to accompany the suggestion to remove one of them with an idea of what to replace it with.

We need Vehicle-Barge AIR Combat since most barges have flight grade repulsorlifts in the rules page.

But air command seems like something that would already stay in ground category. and if air command is removed from space category they would both have the same amounts of fields to fill (currently space category has 11 skill fields whereas ground category has 10)

Or move the different types of command into social, since they are pretty fitting with leadership.

Overall i would move space, air and ground commands to the social category. Move R&D items and R&D medical to science and add Vehicle-Barge AIR Combat to the ground category.

That would be fitting in my opinion. But far too enfuriating to the people who have already made their stats.

the people who have already made their stats.

And that is entirely the problem with moving skills around, or adding them, etc. Changing one skill for another can be done, but wholesale redistribution is a different matter.

well then, the best option would be to remove air command from the space category. That way the will both have the same amount of stats.

Or remove air command from ground and add Vehicle-barge air combat.

Or remove the flight grade repulsorlifts from the barges and the air command from space category. That way we don't need vehicle-barge air combat and both (ground and space) categories will have the same amount of skill fields.

You can't just remove a skill. Because then people have points in a skill that doesn't exist. And people don't like that.

And adding them to the skills point pool is something the Admins usually try to avoid... for reasons that are their own.

Changing Air Command in the ground category to Vehicle/Barge Air Combat would be a viable option. Rules Suggestion would be the appropriate place to have it reviewed.
