I am still relatively new here so please don't think I am being critical, but can someone explain to me why it takes 2 hours to go from space to the surface of a planet?

It just seems to me to be too long and wanted to know what the rest of you think.

If it was 2 x 30 minutes stages that would be a bit more realistic, at least in my opinion :)
