I just purchased some builder NPC's and was wondering wich skills if any would help them with building?

Go for skills to prevent arrest.

None of the NPCs' skills help with building. Number of them does though.

NPC skills do not affect the construction process in any way. The character's management kill, and the number of NPCs are the only main considerations.

I think I will go with DEX to max up movment speed to place to place.

You'd want the speed skill for that. However, that would realistically only affect them running back to 0,0 after construction is done as otherwise they have to be in your party and so will move at your speed - and most people would just hop into a ship/vehicle and drive off to the next construction point.

Instead of opening a new thread, can i just ask here if the race of the NPC builder makes a huge difference to build times? I have noticed that some are a lot quicker than others but is it down to race? Or is it purely random?

There are absolutely no difference when it comes to builder NPCs. Only the person starting construction, and the number of NPCs matter. Skills, level, and race are irrelevant.
