I have been wondering for the longest time, does anyone actually own a StarSpeeder 3000? Or is it just an NPC ship? Because I have yet to see one any where but in an NPC star port and only there as a way of spawn planet hopping.

StarSpeeders will never be R&Dable with their current stats. A slower version may make it onto the tree, but the version we have is exceptionally fast only for the sake of making new player trips shorter.

I wouldn't call hyper 8 exceptionally fast Jesfa. Above average sure, but there are lots of freighters available with hyper 7. Hyper 10+, now that would be exceptional.

Considering someone tried to charge me 700 million for an A-Wing, some folks think hyper 8's pretty exceptional. And I think it actually sold for something relatively near that.

At least I knew it was Jon (couldn't remember the exact spelling), but I vaguely remembered it from a long time ago when I had to manually insert his e-mail address when you wanted to donate from pay pal.

Like it has been pointed out, an A-wing is Hyper 8, the next in line would be the YT-1760 at 7, and what about the ETA -sub-lite at 120?

Lets just keep something strictly NPC.

The modded ship prices of the past are not really an accurate example; all prices are plummeting currently and while modded ships will always net a fair amount more than their ordinary counterparts, no HS 8 ship will bring in 700mil or anything close to it these days.

Either way, speculation is still premature on this stage so we'll see what happens with R&D.

Don't forget Trance that there is the YT-2000 which has hyper 7 and is also producable and publically available with a nice passenger count etc.

Hope the ship will be added in the tree, even if the it will have Hyp 6 or 5, it would be a excellent dropship to carry troopers to the battlefield.

I was thinking of modded ships; I would find A-Wings more desirable as collector's items, but I suppose people might be dumb enough to dump their spare cash into a barely-modded ship for a while longer until credits drain out of the economy a bit more.

I had actually thought StarSpeeders were HS 10.
I would maybe consider bumping those up a tiny bit, but that's another topic entirely.

Odds are, in either case, that the StarSpeeder, if made R&Dable, would have different stats.
