Archives » Killing the Pilot? - can't, error
So, what happens if I kill the RX droid piloting the star tours while we are still traveling?

If we don't know, ........ we will in 2 days 8 hours. And I might need a rescue.

That RX pilot droid is level 90, has 10,000 health, and will fly you into a black hole before you can kill it.

In reality, you have no way to attack the droid, which makes this question ridiculous.

If the droid is attackable, you should report it as a bug.

AFAIK the droid pilot has nothing to do with the movement of the Star Tours ship. The script just starts a bunch of Travel_STEP actions in sequence with the entity.

Actually if you are on Derra you can attack droids, So if Zao takes a flight he has 2 hours to attack the droid and find out, plus the time to leave the grav well.

Even better: See if you can disable it with an ion weapon and put a restraining bolt on it.

If your trying to test a bug on main gets you stuck, I'm leaving you there...

That is a great idea with the disabling and restraining bolt. Unfortunately I do not have those with me, but I'll make sure that I do next time.

I will post here what happens for all those inquisitive minds out there.

Just in case I do get stuck on this thing, I do have someone standing by in the system to pick me up, so you marauders don't start to think you can get on and attacked me

I was actually wondering this myself, unfortunately I'm both naked and not headed to Derra.

Especially after an ASIM just told you if you do this on the main server and something bad happens we wont reverse it

Honestly, I'm a little surprised by the backlash from the Asims regarding this. After all, this is a combat beta. I thought the whole point of a beta was for testing to work out any bugs before a full galactic release. Wouldn't it be good to know if something bad happens when a player attempts to attack an NPC transport pilot, so any related bugs can be fixed before the release of combat?

But I guess nothing happened, so it's no big deal anyway I suppose.

There's a difference between "I found a bug" and "I've been told things will break if I do this, but I'm going to do it anyway," Phillip.

Well seeing as how the "I've been told things will break if I do this, but I'm going to do it anyway," turned out to be false I guess it's good to know tho right?

Certainly, but it's not an abnormal situation that we couldn't test ourselves on the dev server. And things did in fact break; that's what an error literally is.
