I have a ship with no manufacturing date on it. It's just blank after it says DOM. It's ID is 75665 and it's a Personal Luxury Yacht 3000. Any clue what it could be from?

No DOM means that it was spawned manually instead of by the production code. So it came into being before Production as we know it existed as a feature of SWC.

I know the 'spawning' happened as a result of Red Scenarios, but I'm fuzzy about how factions got all their ships and such prior to Production, so it could be from that.

We've had several production iterations as well. I could be wrong, but I think that entities produced with holocom won't have a DOM either.

Wasn't the DOM only added around Y13 or something? I thought that only production after that was added got DOMs.

I do have a ship that shows a DOM from Y10.

Ships with the 75k ID range definitely won't have a DOM; too old. DOM goes back to Year 7.

I did a brief flip through of all the ships I can look at. Here is the data. I didn't find anything with a DOM that was listed as lower than #110905 But clearly you can see that something isn't quite right, as te ID of 112193 says it was made before 111515. Maybe the entity is assigned the number when it is started, and the DOM gets assigned when it completes? I don't know and I can't care enough to delve deeper.

Yes, DOM is set on the completion date.

Syn is almost right. I have a ship YVV-666 ID# 13691 without a DOM. Syn remembers CSIS? Prior Darkness where all the ships were created and spawned.

Also there was Holocom and CCom, which is actually where ships were spawned, as ICIS was just for travel. You had to use holocom for production.
