Spark of Hope
Hacked by: Coren Rinou, Rebel Alliance
Date: Year 21 Day 143 Location Unknown

Rebel Broadcasting Group Mobile HQ - Year 21 day 142: While former New Republic officials have flooded the holonet with calls to action and promises of hope, one question has loomed over the many riots and protests of former Republic worlds: Where are the fleets? The answer to that question has come from the Sluis sector where former New Republic forces resurfaced armed, united and reformed, alongside allies from The Jedi. Just like the Phoenix, the Rebel Alliance has burst forth from the burning remnants of the New Republic; born again in a time of great strife under the leadership of former New Republic Chief of State Orion Chran. Launching a massive bid to reclaim the sector from the Imperial Union occupiers, Orion Chran revealed that they have spent the months since the Republic’s betrayal reorganizing the forces that managed to evade Imperial incarceration.

Fleets composed of former Republic Navy vessels struck the Orto and Denab systems, recapturing starfighters and releasing loyalist personnel imprisoned there, enabling the Rebel Alliance to regain control of the strategically vital manufacturing districts. Imperial commanders, perhaps viewing the assault as a feint, declined to reinforce the systems and kept most of their forces garrisoned around the Sluis system’s shipyards. This made the work of securing footholds for the liberators an easier affair, as they were able to preserve important tactical assets for the main assault. Taking control of a holonet relay station during the battle, Rebel slicers disrupted the Imperial propaganda by flash-broadcasting a short message from Supreme Commander Chran:

“Denizens of the galaxy,

It is with the upmost relief and sadness that we inform you the galactic civil war will rage on. Relief that we still maintain the passion and hope for a galaxy free from the tyranny of the empire and its parasitic Imperial Union. And sadness that the war is necessary to remove the toxic xenophobes that enslave setients all across our galaxy. The heartless, deceitful actions of one spineless sentient do not reflect upon a population unified by the ideals of freedom and liberty for all. The heart of a rebel lies within all those that stand against the tyrants of this galaxy, the Galactic Empire and its puppets in the Imperial Union. The Rebel Alliance isn’t an organization, a place, a fleet or an army. It is a symbol of hope, a shining beacon that blazes for the cause of uniting all sentients across the galaxy, to fight and resist the unjust, oppressive forces skulking around every corner. For 23 years we have held the line against the Empire, and though that line may have shifted, we will continue to hold it. Like the phoenix emblazoned on our crest, we rise from the ashes of the old, to fan the flames of freedom that burn in our hearts, and the hearts of all those who came before.

May the force be with us all “

Encouraged by The Resistance’s successes and closely following the Rebel offensive, the Jedi Order fleet emerged in the Hysalria system. The full force of the Order was able to uproot Imperial forces in the lightly defended system, adding a third foothold where operations were organized for the duration of the campaign. Jedi scouts worked quickly alongside the assault to identify and isolate patrols throughout the sector. A series of rapid strikes by both Rebel and Jedi forces destroyed and disabled several warships captured by the Empire, with the Rebellion adding more assets to their growing fleet.

The sight of Rebel, Jedi and Resistance fleets engaging the Imperial invaders, playing out in the skies and systems of almost every planet in the contested zones has inspired renewed vigor and enthusiasm among their sector’s populace. The size of protests and riots have swelled to record numbers and landing craft full of the Rebel Army’s soldiers have greatly expanded the regions controlled by anti-Imperial militias. Sentients of all walks of life have taken up arms, exemplifying the rebel spirit and fighting bravely for their freedom Supreme Commander Chran lauded in his broadcast.

As brave soldiers and citizens alike have moved from lamentation to liberation, the Rebel Alliance poses questions to those who have chosen to remain neutral; those who have chosen to wait out the fight; those who have perhaps been afraid to fight alone; or those who have compromised their ideals in order to survive under the jackboot of the Empire. Do you truly wish to sit idly by while the Empire tightens its crushing grip on the galaxy and extinguishes freedom? If you are waiting for the right moment to stand up and be counted - this is it.
