Welcome to the Galactic News Service
A Brief Word
Hacked by: Asaryakatr, Freelance
Date: Year 6 Day 65 Onboard the CR-92R Battle Corvette AKVI Den R
Your favorite holodrama is interrupted with an independent news broadcast. You do not recognize the logo and figure it is some 3rd party small-time newscaster desperate to be heard so resorts to hacking the galactic news system. A human female of Alderaanian origin is sitting behind a desk. She addresses the holocam.

"Good evening ladies and gentleman of the galaxy, I'm Nora Winnans." Since this is the Galactic News, the local weather, sports, and news highlights are skipped and she gets straight to the main portion of the broadcast. She looks straight at the camera and begins to speak. "Tonight we have a rather unusual guest, or rather a holo-guest since the person in question would rather not be seen live. Tonight's feature is a holorecording of none other than Black Sun's Twi'lek agent and self-proclaimed "Grey Jedi", the Lady Asarya`katr von Ismay, though apparently she's an ex-Black Sun Member." The newscaster pauses to reflect on this as if it's too unbelievable.

*Static*

A dark room with a single figure appears to be sitting behind a desk. Dim lighting makes it hard to recognize the person. The faint outlines of the figure reveal that she is indeed the Twi'lek woman you've heard tales about.

asaicon2.jpgAsarya is looking down when the camera starts rolling. Then she looks up slowly, asaicon4.jpg"Hmmm, let me first say that when I first heard about the death of my father, I had mixed feelings. I mean, he didn't know how to love his family...the legacy he left behind...er, his last words to me were "daughter, give me a hug." and I didn't..." she trails off and sniffs... "I don't think he ever loved me though so..." She breaks down into pitiful wretched sobs. "I just wish he had had a more honorable death..." She begins to giggle, then in a slight pause, remembers where she is. She sighs with her head on the desk before she looks up again. Her demeanor has completely changed and she now looks coldly at you. asaicon16.jpg "Now, onto more important matters."

"I've had enough of Black Sun claiming me as their Play Imp-type Blue Bunny Mascot. I won't tolerate being a mere icon anymore." She shakes her head. "I'm not some plaything to have fun with." She glares at the camera, her piercing-green eyes starring at the viewer, unflinching. "I've come...I've come to the realization that I've been conned and manipulated at possibly...the lowest point in my life."

She pauses, before continuing, her piercing stare turning into a hurt look. asaicon9.jpg "When I... I uh... joined the ranks of the galaxy's mafia...I thought I knew what I was doing, thought I knew what I was getting into... but." She sighs, looking down, and shaking her head some more. "Deep down... I felt like I was signing my life away... perhaps I have... but I believe... I can change that... turn the tide..."

She looks up and abruptly changes the subject. "It was...it was long ago, when I first ventured out into the galaxy, that my political views would be established. I didn't care who ruled the galaxy, but when the empire imprisoned me, I switched my allegiance, loose as it is, to the other side. I am disappointed though. Disappointed in the endless bureaucracies that is called the Rebel Alliance. Gone are the days of hit and fade attacks I guess, because pirates seem to be the only ones doing that now. The rebels seem more like cowards to me, hiding away while the Empire still rules with a so-called iron fist." Asarya rolls her eyes and sticks her tongue out at the "rebels".

The light in the room increases, showing more of the Twi'lek woman. She stands, steps around the desk. She seems to be holding a remote of sorts, presses a button and the camera zooms in. "Trust" she says while holding out her palm, "is an interesting thing. We give it, and it is either taken away from us or we gain from it. I lost the trust of the Jedi, that was rightly so. I lost the trust of my closest friends, so be it. I never trusted my family for they never loved me. When I say family here... I mean the ones who raised me from when i was an infant." Her voice starts to get louder and louder and the coldness of it could cut thin air. "The clan deprived me of my childhood. One wonders why they didn't just sell me into the slavery they did to almost every other female of the clan. Perhaps I am tainted..." She shakes her fist and scowls. "I am half human after all, a half-breed is an outcast, no one wants her..." Her voice goes from cold to hurt as it breaks, and a tear rolls down her face. "No on...not one of them...ever showed me love...they...they just taught me enough to function in this galaxy...this careless galaxy...and sent me off..." She looks down, unable to look up for several moments. She is so motionless, you don't know whether she's still standing there, or the cam had froze.

She finally looks up again, "and then there is my other...family. Ah yes" she sniffs. "The bonds of a mafia type family. At a low point in my life, I accepted the invitation, after all, elements of the other half of my biological family accepted me for who I was... sorta. I have discovered that...that..." she trails off and looks off to the side. She starts to giggle a bit. She coughs and absently remembers that the camera is still running. "Ah yeah, where was I, oh yes... I don't make a good criminal agent." Asarya looks from side to side. asaicon10.jpg "You all out there in hololand can probably tell I like to ramble on and on and on... yeah you get the idea."

"Back to the people I associated with." She glares at the camera. asaicon14.jpg She seems to be a cauldron of a plethora of overflowing emotions. "Some of you were decent people, others, just have no fiber of morals left in them. Xanathar Branwen, you are one of the latter. You will do anything for a laugh, and you will blow off anyone's head if the price is right. Granted, there is a whole wack of other people in this galaxy who would do the same, but you, you...take the cake. You, are such a liar as well...the crap you say to your members and would be members though isn't that one of Black Sun's chief means of operation, lies. What a bunch of liars we all were... though I've discovered that I'm such a terrible liar... woops..." She shrugs.

"Terak is another liar, but I'll admit he's quite good at it. Quite good at getting people to believe him, and very good at what he does. Sorry, but in the recent times, I have lost what respect I had for you. I trained you in the ways of the Jedi, but I don't believe you walk in the ways. I don't believe I do either, so while I was angry at Master Vel for sending me packing from the Jedi Order, I believe fate was entwined, for I am no longer a Jedi, but so be it." She sighs wistfully though, regardless. "Terak, your tactics and methods of operation are underhanded; way to heartless for a "Jedi" and way too arrogant. You think you know everything."

"Hal Breden, you and your bloodthirsty god, I've had just about enough of. You claim neutrality, yet lie to your closest supporters, but we all know in the end who you've worked for all along. I congratulate you in pulling the wool over your supporters and the Rebel's eyes."

"Chiss Veers," she chuckles. "The life-size doll your factories created of me were a novel item, though I am annoyed that you manufactured a defective line of them. They were blowing up all over the galaxy." She smiles a false smile, imitating the look on the dolls. "My...name...is...As
