Pirates Strike on Convey Fails!
Posted by: Diana Tucker, GNN
Date: Year 6 Day 162 GNN Main Office, Corellia
Hello, this is Diana Tucker, bringing you with breaking news from Hutt space. Earlier today, a group of pirates, calling themselves the Giechen Syndicate, interrupted a Drax Industries Convey at a transfer point on the way to Geonosis. The convoy, carrying various materials for ship production, had been waiting at the location for several days, and the information had apparently been leaked to the Hutt Crime Syndicate. However, much to the dismay of the pirates, they were waiting for their escort to arrive. And they did.

Tytus Escorting arrived just on time, quickly disabling much of the pirate fleet before the remaining scoundrels jumped into hyperspace. While most of the group was quickly incarcerated, one surviving Nitko managed to provide valuable information regarding the goals and intentions of the Giechan Syndicate.

According to our GNN Exclusive reports, the captured pirate stated that he was he was working for Giechan the Hutt, a crime lord based out of the planet Kintan. That however, is not what's shocking. Pirates have been running out of Hutt space since the early days of the Republic. What is shocking is the reasons Drax Industry ships were targeted. It appears as if Giechan the Hutt discovered a large ship of some sort in an asteroid belt surrounding Kintan. The pirates were gathering materials which could be used to bring the ship up to full operational capacity. While in the end they were unsuccessful, such information has lead many to wonder if there is more to be discovered at Kintan than a few Nitko pirates.

More news as it comes, on the hour, every hour, only at GNN. And now a word from our sponsors.
