Veritas conglomerate undergoes changes
Recent weeks have seen several new developments sweep the Veritas conglomerate as the completion of a huge construction project, the birth of a new subsidiary company and a change in ownership are all hoped to alter the organisation for the better. Hoping to outline these changes to the galactic public, officials yesterday called a press conference in the Corellian system of Rehemsa, where through Imperial cooperation Veritas recently finished building several new cities specifically designed for research and to serve as corporate headquarters.

Supreme Commander Jenru arrived in typically eccentric fashion, sporting his favourite shockball team's logo on a rather strange hat as celebratory fireworks erupted across the slick Rehemsa skyline, the conference centre situated outside in the centre of one of the aforementioned cities.
We're gathered here for a big announcement, my friends. Firstly, it's my pleasure to announce that under the guidance of CEO Kiie Cristal this city cluster in Rehemsa has been completed. At the heart of the operation is safeguarding the security of Veritas through the Natori Association, our new paramilitary branch. Being the leader of this group, I am pleased that Natori has now become an official, registered company and we already have some fantastic sentients signed up for this enterprise.
Applause from assembled Veritas employees and journalists threatened to drown out Jenru as he continued his announcement. He gestured to the sky above in grandiose fashion as he resumed the speech.
We have built and gathered resources from across this great expanse. From one corner to the other we have finally completed a project that will propel Veritas and the Natori Association to the next level!

Another reason I'm here is to announce that, around two weeks ago , I was handed the Chairmanship (and therefore ownership) of Veritas following a small ceremony. Lord Mustafa has served this organization well and I cannot begin to express the pride and respect I have for the man. He couldn't be here with us tonight, but he shares my belief and hope that we can continue to develop our conglomerate and news department after this change. I want to thank everyone for allowing me to serve as Chairman, it's a great honour and I assure you I won't disappoint. So without further ado, let me hand over to Lady Kiie Cristal who is here to speak about our new partnership with Centrepoint, dubbed the cVc.

Greetings all. I am happy to announce that our new partnership with the Centrepoint conglomerate is progressing very smoothly. A joint business venture in Ardenian Drive Yards has been set up, headed by none other than former owner Lord Mustafa, and is progressing very well indeed. Truly, it serves as a symbol of Veritas-Centrepoint cooperation. We are also developing the system of Toprawa, which was recently transferred to us by Centrepoint. Toprawa is an excellent example of how future dealings with Centrepoint can be mutually beneficial, and everyone here at Veritas looks forward to more joint ventures further ahead. Thank you.

Gamba Jaboli Murdered By Zann Consortium
A broadcast from the New Republic
Republica, REPUBLICA - The New Republic is in mourning after the cruel murder of Gamba Jaboli, prominent citizen and leader of the Republic's private weapons supplier, The Octagon League. The killing was planned and carried out by the criminals Ximaro Jix, Zane Apex and other members of the Zann Consortium, who freely admit to their crimes.
The murder took place several weeks ago aboard a ship belonging to the outlaws. Ximaro Jix kidnapped Jaboli as he arrived to negotiate with Xakic Jix, leader of the Dark Star Hellions, for the safe release of fellow Republic citizen and Octagon employee Kraak Ak-Xaiva, who also sadly perished at Xakic's hands after being betrayed and captured by his own wife, Avigail. After he was held to ransom for several days, Zane Apex - a known member of Zann - then murdered Gamba.
But Gamba's life was not the only thing stolen from him. Former employees of The Octagon League have confirmed that during the course of Mr Jaboli's imprisonment, through blackmailing the innocent Zabrak, the Consortium gained ownership of all shares in the company. In the days following his death, Zann set about stripping the organization of assets before announcing its dissolution. A successor company under the same name has surfaced under the leadership of Greyson Abrams, a known member of Zann, and Republic Diplomacy Command has since listed it as a hostile organization. New Republic citizens have been warned by authorities that this group is the polar opposite of its predecessor, criminal in nature and not to be trusted under any circumstances.
Condolences have been flooding in from all around the New Republic and the galaxy as those Gamba befriended during his life pay homage to him. Chief of State Kara DuMonte Webb expressed her profound sadness in the wake of Jaboli's murder and has urged all citizens to review asafety procedures as criminals continue to persecute the Republic. One friend and former colleague of Gamba Jaboli, Xeno Qi`Tan, said of the Zabrak, It never mattered to Gamba whom he helped, so long as he was helping. Even in his final moments he was looking for the safety, protection, and release of his friends. To me, that speaks volumes more than any writ a government releases; rather than issuing edicts or papers he suffered alongside those he protected. Truly one to measure the concept of 'good' by.
Meanwhile, another friend of the late Jaboli, Alan Scott, spoke of his experience of the philanthropist. Ay'edar Jaboli approached me with an idea to help others. Thus was The Octagon League formed. I was drawn to his love of peace and balance, as well as his desire to help anyone who asked or was in need. He helped me learn more of my own heritage as I was a refugee who was not raised on Iridonia. All the worlds are a little darker now and he will be sorely missed. May Ashaa guide his spirit.
The Zabrak's influence has even extended into the world of sport. In honour of Gamba, the Republic Boloball Association has announced that its Hall of Fame is to be renamed the 'Gamba Jaboli Hall of Fame', 'Jaboli Hall' for short, symbolic of the deep respect and sadness felt by the whole Republic upon hearing of the passing of one of its most benevolent citizens.
Unfortunately, this dignity and respect has not been mirrored in the behaviour of Gamba's murderers. His wife and child, already distraught over his murder, have been informed that the return of his body is not expected, highlighting the apathetic nature of his killers. To this end, galactic news agencies are reporting that a bloody power struggle within the syndicate responsible for Jaboli's murder has resulted in the death of leading Dark Star Hellion, Andy Longshot. Though the outlaws continue to destroy lives around the galaxy, it's certainly clear that they are far from the closely bonded brotherhood some perceive them to be.
Though dead, Gamba Jaboli's memory lives on in his values of goodwill and honesty. These values are the theme that has dominated testimonials to Jaboli in the wake of his passing, memories of whom will live on in the New Republic for years to come.
