The Good Fight To Come
Hacked by: Gand Xitwa, New Republic
Date: Year 19 Day 352 Location Unknown

RNN Headquarters, REPUBLICA -- With the recent news of its resignation and three month transitional period from the Galactic Alliance, the New Republic reaffirms its continued opposition of the Galactic Empire and Imperial Union; a staunch contrast to the Krath Empire and the Archduchy of Tolonda’s desire for neutrality.

Three days ago, the New Republic’s Chief of State Orion Chran and High Ambassador Xitwa announced to both citizens of the Republic and the Galactic Alliance Leadership Council the unanimous decision that had cleared the Senate Chambers. Prior to Operation Urgent Fury, the operation spearheaded by the New Republic and her allies, the Senate and the Advisory Council had engaged in a series of discussions that focused on the New Republic’s continued place in the Galactic Alliance. Concerns at that time focused on the cultural differences between Member Groups, sovereign rights, and the growing opposition to any action that would expand mutual aid and the cooperative spirit the Galactic Alliance was founded on.

Three weeks ago, a series of leaked information from the New Republic’s Senate Chambers reached allies in the Galactic Alliance. The information contained in the leaks provided an insight into the disappointment that some officials had with other Member Groups and what effects would ensue if the New Republic would vote to withdraw from the alliance. Almost instantly, accusations of corruption and demands for accountability were levied against the New Republic. Despite the best efforts of many of the within the Galactic Leadership Council, including the New Republic representatives, hostilities continued to grow and ultimately the New Republic Senate decided to temporarily suspend access to the technology that the Krath and the Archduchy of Tolonda had access to. Though the leaked information was not the singular reason behind the resignation, the reaction by certain Member Groups proved to tip the scales and settle any uncertainty that the Senate may have had on the New Republic’s future.

Mere hours after the New Republic announced its resignation, the Krath and the Archduchy would surprise the Galactic Alliance with back to back resignations of their own. Unlike the three month transitional period set forth and agreed upon by the Senate, the Krath’s and Archduchy resignation was immediate. It was not long after, that Secretary General, Va`Li Owa of the Arkaninan Brotherhood, called for a temporary hold on official alliance business to allow all Member Groups the opportunity to evaluate these changes and focus on unity.

Communication between the Galactic Alliance and the New Republic have remained open and are projected to stay this way. In an earlier statement, the High Ambassador declared "[The New Republic] will continue to work with and maintain relationships with all Member Groups of the Alliance; the ability for all parties to continue to grow and foster the much needed respect and assistance for one another still exists. Many of them remain dedicated allies and partners, both now and in the future. It is extraordinarily unfortunate that [the New Republic’s] departure came to pass - yet despite the diversion of our paths, the ultimate destination remains the same: the complete and unequivocal opposition of the Imperial Union and the threats it poses to all sentient beings."

It is too early at this point to speculate what will develop in the coming months between the New Republic and the Galactic Alliance. However, with both parties committed to the defense of the Imperial threat, the New Republic remains ready for the good fight yet to come.
