Date: Year 21 Day 150 Onboard the Sabaoth Destroyer [EoTH] Scimitar in system Tynnani (135, -98).

After what can only be described as a historic meeting between the then offworld Council of Families, the ruling organ body of the Chiss, comprised of the Aristocra (or heads) of the most prominent families, and a delegation of the Galactic Empire, a holographic message was broadcast throughout the Csilla system and to Chiss everywhere, announcing the Day of Return, the day when the Council of Families would once again govern Csilla and the Chiss people. Spontaneous celebrations erupted around the system, most notably at the former New Republic governor's estate, now merely a monument to an illusory form of governance foisted on the Csillan people during the past decade. Where once the ancient Chiss traditions were considered a lost cause, they are now the foundations for a bright future welcomed by the proudly autonomous people of Csilla.

Self-governance has been a long-held goal of the Chiss people, forced to align with greater galactic powers for many years in a token stewardship. Similar to Mandalorians, Chiss society is made up of families that one can be either born or adopted into, the most influential of which represent their family's interests in the Council of Families. The Chiss were always a very isolated and secretive people, wary of any outside influences, until forty years ago a civil war undid centuries of cultural and technological progress. The brutal conflict devastated all seven ruling houses of the Ascendancy and nearly halved the planet's population, a combination of casualties and those fleeing the planet to seek safety and shelter elsewhere. Rising from the rubble dejectedly, the Chiss had several short-lived attempts at forming a new, stable government before their discovery by the Twelve Colonies, who restored a semblance of order to the planet, albeit under the rule of outsiders. This lasted until the New Republic's foray into the Unknown Regions brought Csilla to their attention and the icy planet was folded into their Senate. The impracticality of trying to control a planet so far away from their claimed territory was waved away, but heavily felt by the local population when the pirates of Black Nebula claimed parts of the surface and subjugated those unfortunate enough to live there.

In the immediate aftermath of the fall of Republica, the faraway Csilla was one of the first planets to be abandoned by its supposed protectors and the neglected, underfunded and complex administration of the Csilla system quickly gave way to riots and a surge in crime. Adamant to solve the crisis before it could incite a new civil war and leave the planet in ruins, the Chiss Ascendancy, which had been limited to a token stewardship by the New Republic, gathered its forces and prepared to return home at long last. Lacking the capability to rehabilitate an entire system, it sought the aid of the Galactic Empire, who showed sympathy for their plight and provided both financial and military contributions to the Chiss cause. In a combined effort, Imperial and Chiss forces were able to restore order to the underground streets of Csilla. Despite some holdouts of the Vesci Syndicate, a group of exiled houses   turned criminal now seeking to profit from the chaos caused by the power vacuum, the planet has been declared safe and under control. Republic vessels left behind have been claimed by the Ascendancy and will aid in the restoration.

Impressed with the work of the restored Council of Families and their years of dedication to a cause many considered hopeless, Emperor Seele agreed to return the governance of the Csilla system to the Council and support them in their return to prosperity, hoping to forge a lasting friendship between two strong nations, actualized with the appointment of Countess Elvira Falston as Imperial liaison and advisor to the Council. Announcing news of this agreement was Grand Aristocra Yar`eius`Rot flanked by the Aristocra of the two other ruling houses, Grev’endar’togl and Prard’aga’rono.

“For decades, the Chiss Ascendancy served a dream. To be able to return to our homeworld, not as a tourist nor as an agent for the New Republic working to reduce our own planet to just another link in their chain. Despite our peaceful and diplomatic efforts to regain our indepence for so long, our wishes fell only on the Republic's deaf ears.

We made an oath to you all long ago, to restore Csilla to a prospering and independent planet, an example to the entire galaxy of what a united people can achieve. That day has finally come with the aid of our new Imperial allies. In  mere weeks, the Empire has shown us more kindness and support than the Galactic Alliance in its entire history. Like the Jawa on Tatooine not too long ago, the Chiss have now not only regained our homeworld, but the ability to shape our own future. We stand tall and proud alongside all other free species of the galaxy. And to our bright-eyed brethren I say: we will be in touch for that droid with the malfunctioning motivator”. He pauses as a half smirk spread across his otherwise grizzled face.

"As of today I can proudly say, Csilla is free of the constraint of outsider control. Noble Chiss, come home. Return your world to honour. Treasure your family. Rise and be proud once more of your heritage. Long live Csilla and the eternal Chiss."

Although the announcement ended there, many speculate that further news regarding a series of administrative changes will be forthcoming, and it is rumoured that the long maintained planetary shield restrictions may be relaxed or even brought to an end entirely, permitting Chiss everywhere to return to their home and rebuild what once was considered lost forever.
