Mystery in the Swamp
Posted by: Darin Byrch, Bando Gora
Date: Year 21 Day 160 Onboard the Veltraa-class Cruiser [BG] Cardinal Sin in system Venaari (183, 198).

“Jedi Knights are responding to the disappearance of their advance team to the planet Dagobah.”

“On Year 20 Day 140 The Galactic Empire ceded control of the planet Dagobah to the Jedi Order after their daring raid on the Imperial Capital world of Coruscant. The Jedi Order reports that shortly after taking control of the world within the Sluis sector, they dispatched a team to scout and establish their presence, and distribute aid to the impoverished swamp world of over thirty-five
million sentients. “

“Locals have reported that a group of Jedi security forces and young Jedi have been seen around the world’s twenty plus cities and hamlets, distributing aid amongst those in need. This advance group is reported to have been composed primarily of young padawans, overseeing the relief effort ahead of larger Jedi support.”

“The team was last seen on year 20 day 148 after scouting deep into the southern hemisphere to offer assistance to the more rural communities.”

“Today, the Jedi have reported to Outer Rim News Service that while their teams are still missing, they have called off the search after finding what they believe to be the derelict camp of their advance team.”

“Embedded reporters with the search report that no bodies were found among the camp, nor deeper in the surrounding swamp.”

“Questions on why the search was called off were declined to be answered, leaving many to feel the Jedi Order knows more than they are saying?”

“Locals suspect that the Jedi may have fallen prey to the planet’s native Knobby Spider, a 3.5 meter tall predator which roams the swamps of Dagobah.”

“Footage captured from the sight highlights a peculiar word found etched into a nearby Gnarltree. The Word “Wonosa” can be seen clearly inscribed into the tree in Aurebesh. Researchers at ORNS were unable to decipher the word with any registered galactic language. Though this clue which could lead to solving the mystery, is leaving many wondering: Why is the Jedi Order not searching further?”

“Many questions today at ORNS, but our thoughts and well wishes go out to those affected in the Jedi Order.”
