Welcome to the Galactic News Service
“For over two weeks, reports of a Zann Consortium blockade have flooded in from the system of Petabys, proving resilient to multiple attempts at disruption.”
The galaxy now cries out in despair as Zann’s forces tighten their grip on Petabys and sentients of all affiliations and races desperately attempt to escape the clutches of the vile consortium.
The conflict began with Zann's deployment of a Defiler space assault cell, “Terror From Above'', along with a Void Wolves attack squadron, to the peaceful system of Petabys with the objective of blockading the region to restrict commerce and trade. While rumors began to surface that the Galactic Empire would intervene directly, no statement has been issued to the galaxy at large, and internal communications within Imperial ranks suggest no direct aid will be given- without operational Star Destroyers in the Petabys region. Furthermore the Imperial war machine is unwilling to commit fighters against the overwhelming fleet of cutthroats and miscreants that make up the Zann Consortium umbrella.
Victims of the marauders have relayed holo-messages from the “Terror From Above” cell leader, Wakagashira Joel Mortuus-Aquila: “All ships wishing safe conduct in the Petabys system simply need to pay tribute to the Consortium. Any unwilling to meet these demands will be dealt with using deadly force.”
The Imperial hesitancy has not been mimicked by the Tresario Star Kingdom, led by Shawn Veldn and Wedge Cornely, who dutifully dispatched their elite fighter unit “The Calaron Razors” to intercept the blockade, in an effort to restore peace to Petabys and allow safe travel for all sentient life. Despite the nobility of their mission, the Razors' efforts are currently being met with catastrophe and defeat, as they are unable to overcome enemy resistance without reinforcements from their Imperial Union allies.
This news of activity comes just days after Zann’s capture of Za Zarzuela Zohan, a Fosh who gained notoriety for scamming approximately one billion credits out of Emperor Seele’s private coffers. Sources linked to Zohan stated Alston Nailo and Kyota “Kentu '' Navic, the latter the chief advisor of Zann Consortium, crafted the plan responsible for catching the swindling avian.
In an official statement following the capture and Petabys operations, Ximaro Jix, Crime Lord of the Zann Consortium, stated: “It would appear the Empire and Tresario fail to show civilization why they need to be ruled by such incapable governments, if they cannot even fight for themselves”
Ximaro is currently believed to be personally sabotaging an Imperial mission in the Galactic Empire’s Amber Region, along with his special security team “Bvyeks” lead by Zane Apex, however Ximaro declined to comment on the operation or its specifics.
